Enter online to take advantage of the reduced entry fee and beat the queues on the day!
Both Penn Seven and Super Fun Run races are now using chip timing, you will receive a text message with your race time as you cross the finish line.

If you are looking to race, please read our important race day information.

Entries on the day

Entries will be available on the day for both the Penn Seven and the Super Fun Run, subject to the maximum entry number (450 for the Penn Seven, 750 for the Super Fun Run) not being reached. Just come to the entries tent on the Common, where entry forms will be available. However we do strongly advise you to enter in advance. This will avoid the queues which build up on the day, and you will benefit from a discounted entry fee.

Car parking

There will be parking restrictions around the village centre on Sunday. We therefore advise those within walking distance to leave their cars at home.

If you do bring a car, please do not park it on the B474, nor on New Road, Church Road or School Road. Please also be considerate to other road users and local residents when parking.

Changing and toilet facilities

Limited changing facilities together with toilets are available at the following locations: · the Village Hall. From the Common, walk to the Finish gantry and turn left down the road immediately behind the gantry. When you reach Bank Road, turn right and the Hall is immediately on your right. · Penn & Tylers Green Sports & Social Club, which is across Elm Road (the main B474 from Hazlemere to Beaconsfield) from the Start Line. Please take care crossing this road as it is quite busy. The facilities are limited, so you are advised to arrive in your race clothing if possible. Sports bags etc can be left at the back of the beer tent. Please do not leave valuables, as no liability can be accepted for any items left here, or elsewhere at the event.

Pre-entered competitors

You will need to collect your Chipped race number. These will be ready for collection adjacent to the Entries tent. We will have a supply of pins available, but please bring your own if you have some.

Mini-marathons

Mini-marathons for five, six and seven year olds will be held on a specially laid out course on the Common as part of the day’s fun. So ensure you bring the whole family with you. The mini-marathons will take place from about 12:40 onwards. Every child who takes part will receive a medal. The leading boy and leading girl from each age category receive a winners certificate to keep, which is presented at the main Fun Run presentation ceremony held between 3pm and 4pm. The entry fee for the mini-marathons is £2 per child and you can only enter on the day, in the Mini Marathon Marquee on the Common from 10.45 a.m. (NB NOT at the tent dealing with entries for the Penn Seven and Super Fun Run)

Race numbers

Please fill in the Medical Information Template on the back of your number, for use in case of emergency. All competitors must wear their race numbers, unfolded, cut or mutilated, and pinned to the front of their vests at all times during the race. Marshals will be positioned near the finish to remove any competitors who are not wearing a race number on their front. All competitors must wear their correct number. Any competitor wearing another person’s number or a number not issued by the Organisers will be liable to disqualification. If you were part of a group entry, make sure you have been given the correct number by checking the name written on the back of your form. Note that if you are unable to run, and want to allow a friend to run in your place, we will gladly reallocate your number without charge. If you can let us know before the day, that would be ideal; just drop an email to pennseven@live.co.uk with your race number, your name, and the name, address, date of birth and contact details of the person replacing you. If you cannot let us know in advance, then tell the person who is running in your place to come to the entries tent with your number and a completed application form before they run. Please note that numbers for the Penn Seven are blue, those for the Super Fun Run are red. If you have entered both races, please make sure you wear the appropriate number for each race.

iPods and other MP3 players

Following advice from various running organisations, we have reluctantly decided to ban the use of personal music players (iPods, etc). We are sorry about this, as we know that a number of runners like to have music as they run. However we feel that your, and others, safety must come first. If you are wearing earphones then you will not be able to hear marshals’ instructions, or traffic around you. Anyone observed wearing headphones will therefore be disqualified. Please don’t let this happen to you.

Course routes

Both the Penn Seven and the Super Fun Run start and finish on Tylers Green Common, known as the Front Common. If you are using a satnav to find us, the postcode to use is HP10 8LA. Maps of the routes are available for download from our website, and will be on display in the Assembly Area. The routes will be clearly signposted. Runners are requested to observe all signage, particularly that relating to which side of the road to run, for their and others’ safety.

The Penn Seven starts downhill on the Common, down Elm Road, and then turning right down to Penn Bottom, before climbing back up to Penn and the Common; after running down Elm Road again, the course then turns left into New Road, before turning right into St Johns Road, Manor Road, the Amersham Road and then the Rose Avenue estate and Ashley Drive, across New Road and along some footpaths before returning to Tylers Green Common and the Finish.

Marshals will be positioned at all strategic junctions. Please keep to the pavements where possible and take extra care when crossing roads. In particular, both the Penn Seven and the Super Fun Run follow the Amersham Road (the A404) for about 400 metres; this is a busy road and it is essential that competitors stay on the pavement. Whilst marshals are stationed around the course to assist with providing a safe race, each participant must take responsibility for their own safety.

The Super Fun Run starts uphill (very slightly) on the Common, then along Bank Road and some tracks up to Church Road and St Johns Road, Manor Road, the Amersham Road and then the Rose Avenue estate and Ashley Drive, across New Road and along some footpaths before returning to Tylers Green Common and the Finish.

Water stations will be positioned approximately every two miles.

Finish process

The finish for both the Penn Seven and the Super Fun Run is situated on the Common. Please make sure your number is clearly visible to the recorders, stay in order once you have crossed the finish line and comply with the instructions given by the funnel marshals. You will be guided into a finish lane where you will receive your medal. Please then proceed away from the funnel to avoid congestion. Drinks will be available shortly after the exit to the funnel.

Medical And Health Matters

It is important to be fit and trained before taking part in events such as these. There is useful advice at www.runnersmedicalresource.com.

First Aid

St John Ambulance will be on hand to provide first aid facilities for the event. They will be located on the Front Common – straight ahead after coming out of the Finish funnel. If you require assistance during the race, speak with one of the marshals who will make contact with the first aid team.

Catering

There will be hot and cold refreshments available to purchase on the Front Common.
